Over the course of 18 lessons, students are guided in an in-depth introduction to the Middle East and its intriguing history, devout religious life, and volatile politics. Students are asked to examine their own biases in order to more objectively view the region and its people. Comprehensive writing and reflection exercises are paired with research and reading. A wide variety of project choices encourages students to engage with the material in a personally relevant way.
