> High School Courses > High School English > Composition 2 : Creative Writing and Nonfiction

This single-semester course develops the tools students need to help express themselves in writing with greater clarity and effectiveness. The first half of the course focuses on creative writing as students study literary techniques by reading stories by a variety of authors and then create their own short story. In the second half of the course, students turn to nonfiction writing, applying the techniques of creative writing to craft nonfiction works that are vibrant, expressive, and purposeful.
