The Math 8 curriculum explores the advanced uses of fractions, decimals, and percents and then introduces beginning concepts of algebra in preparation for high school. Lessons include squares and exponents, the order of operations, coefficients, geometry, formulas, scientific notation, and graphing. Students enrolled in the eighth grade may elect to take Pre-Algebra or Algebra with teacher approval.
