Oak Meadow’s web-based online courses for grades 5-8 combine the dynamic interactivity of the web, online and offline assignments, and regular tests to enable students to learn each subject easily and enjoyably. Courses include a complete explanation of the subject, full-color photos and graphics, plus numerous links to web sites that expand upon the subject. In addition, each course includes a complete teacher’s manual (available only to the parent or teacher) that contains all the answers to the assignments and additional information about the topics in each lesson. Each course includes a full school year of instruction (36 lessons) and access is granted for 12 months. English: Continues to build upon all basic English and study skill areas, emphasizing literary analysis and expository writing. Includes classics of English literature, drama, and satire.

Math: Features decimals, the metric system of measurement, percentages, ratios, multiple-step word problems, and basic geometry. The emphasis is upon applying math skills in problem-solving situations.

Life Science: Emphasizes an experiential approach that gives children the opportunity to discover scientific principles through hands-on activities.

Ancient Civilizations: An integrated experience that includes the geography, literature, arts, and crafts of these cultures.
